For many the message can only be completed with the perfect use of a font. Mistakes in Typography Grate the Purists, a recent article, in The New York Times shared the enthusiasm many designers have about fonts and the correct use of them. Check it out, it's an interesting read. I guarantee you that next time you see a font, you won't look at it the same way.

Saute It Your Way

A little while back, we created and launched a web site for a new line of Louisiana culinary products called Saute Your Way. Our client, Ala Carte Foods has expanded the brand and it is in fine grocery stores all across the South. This week they premiered their first television spot. Although, we didn't create the spot, it was inspired by the website.

Check it out and if you see it in the stores, pick up a few.

You’re having dinner with your teenage kids, and they text throughout: you hate it; they’re fine with it. At the office, managers are uncertain about texting during business meetings: many younger workers accept it; some older workers resist. Those who defend texting regard such encounters as the clash of two legitimate cultures, a conflict of manners not morals. If a community — teenagers, young workers — consents to conduct that does no harm, does that make it O.K., ethically speaking?

This weekend while taking a short road trip, I discovered a new source of entrepreneurial inspiration - From Scratch Radio. This radio broadcast can be heard on NPR weekly. I discovered very interesting interviews by Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa and many other entrepreneurs. So if you have a few minutes, check it out and I'm sure you will be inspired to venture out into a new venture or expand your current business.

“The Unofficial Guide to New Orleans” features a recent print collateral piece for the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Excerpt: If the original architect missed the downbeat, the Convention Center administration does its best to set the right tempo. Clear, handsome promotional literature is readily available by calling the marketing and sales-department office. The publication details the floor plans of the facility, including the capacities of the various spaces. There are 55 spaces for highway vans and 13 freight drive-in entrances. The same brochure specifies the dimensions of these entrances, the floor load capacity (350 pounds per square foot), and a host of other details needed by exhibitors. The facility is non-union.

Client News: Chevron To Award $50K To Urban League of Greater New Orleans For Disaster Preparedness Outreach

On Monday, April 27, 2009, the Chevron Corporation will present the Urban League of Greater New Orleans (ULGNO) with $50,000 to start a new community disaster preparedness initiative named, HurricaneReady. “This outreach program will combat the complacency that many families and small businesses have about the importance of hurricane season readiness,” said Nolan Rollins, Urban League’s President and CEO. This program is an outgrowth of the Urban League’s disaster toll-free information line, which was formed to provide emergency evacuation information to citizens. The outreach will provide evacuation kits that include fuel cards, important checklists, maps and evacuation tips. The program is scheduled to begin before the start of hurricane season. The formal announcement will take place at the Urban League Headquarters located at 2322 Canal Street at 10:00 AM.
